Introduction

As a wine drinker I always wonder what thoughts were going through the winemakers mind while producing what I am drinking. I always think about his or her goal for the wine and whether or not it had been achieved. I think about what problems they faced and how they overcame those problems; as well as their thoughts on the final product. In this vain, I thought it fitting to provide details of our adventure, with photos, details, confessions, insight, and overall summary of what we have done, what we have taken from the experience, and what the future holds for us as winemakers. I hope you enjoy!

Tasting Notes / Observations 11/03/08

Color:
Beautiful dark maroon with slightly purplish hues. Very comparable to a well-extracted Oregon Pinot. A little light for a merlot, but very intriguing as well. When the light hits it just right, it is the color of the most sexy and sultry dark red lipstick.
Palette:
Young, fresh, and a little rambunctious in its liveliness. Very tart and acidic which will change with malolactic. It is showing promise, we just hope it stays true to its word.
Nose:
The best and most exciting characteristic of our wine at this point. Showing lots of fruit up front - bright and ripe cherry, strawberry, and plum. Hints of vanilla come in next and then about 3/4 through - something intriguing and beautiful. I can't put my finger on it but I am very excited.
